These terms govern your use of velocitytax.io and our text messaging program. By using the site, booking a call, chatting with our website assistant, or opting in to text messages, you agree to them.
Our services; engagement governs
The site provides information about, and access to, Velocity's tax, bookkeeping, and advisory services. Any professional engagement is governed by your signed Engagement Letter, which controls over these Terms for the services provided.
Informational site — not tax, legal, or financial advice
Content on this website is general information, not tax, legal, or accounting advice for your situation. Using this site, booking a call, or chatting with our website assistant does not create a client relationship; that begins only when both you and Velocity Tax Group sign an engagement letter. We do not practice law — for legal matters (including which business entity to form), consult a licensed attorney; for investment matters, consult a licensed financial advisor. Our Enrolled Agents are licensed by the IRS to represent taxpayers before the IRS — they are not "certified," and this is not an IRS employment relationship. Our website chat assistant ("KevinAI") is an AI assistant, clearly labeled as such — it can answer general questions and help you schedule a call, and it does not give tax advice or make determinations about your taxes. A credentialed human professional makes every substantive determination for our clients.
Business-formation services (where offered)
Where we assist with business-formation documents, we do so as a document-preparation and filing service at your direction. We do not provide legal advice or select the right entity or structure for you — those are legal decisions for a licensed attorney.
AI-assisted tools
Our tools (including KevinAI) use AI to assist our licensed team. AI output is not a final tax, legal, or financial determination; a credentialed professional is responsible for all deliverables.
SMS program terms — TaxApp Notifications
Velocity Tax Group's "TaxApp Notifications" program sends service messages to clients who opt in — for example document upload requests, appointment reminders, and account status updates.
- Opt-in: clients provide their mobile number in our secure client portal during engagement onboarding and consent in their engagement letter. Consent is not a condition of receiving our services.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Opt out any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. You may also contact us through our contact page.
- Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your mobile information — it is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
Booking and scheduling
Calls booked through this site are consultations, not engagements. Please provide accurate contact information so we can confirm and, where applicable, remind you of your appointment.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site or chat assistant — including attempting to disrupt service, probe or abuse the assistant, submit unlawful content, or misrepresent your identity.
Intellectual property
The site, its content, and our marks belong to Velocity Tax Group or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except as allowed by law.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is" without warranties to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Velocity's aggregate liability arising from your use of the site will not exceed $100, and Velocity is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. (Liability for professional services is governed by your Engagement Letter.) This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Governing law · venue · changes
